Vaycay Pt. 1 - The Deaconry

Today our family is heading for summer vacation in North Jersey, NYC & Connecticut.  After flying to White Plains, our first stop is Liberty Corner, NJ.  I have an aunt that lives here at what is called a Deaconry.  A convent of sorts I guess.  Should be interesting.  Right now I’m at a Starbucks about a half a mile away in a place called Martinsville.  How many people do you know have actually had a vacation on a convent?  We’ll be here until Monday.  I’ll post some pics in my blog in the next day or so,  so you all can witness the most unique vacation spot we’ve ever had!

  1. Several priests, maybe?

  2. Two posts! Yay!

I hope you and Manuela and the kids have a great vacation. The convent/deaconery thing sounds interesting. Take pics!

  3. Wow, how cool is that. I bet you guys will have a blast getting a completely different perspective.

Remind me to tell you about the time I almost married a girl and moved into a protestant Commune in Texas that fronted as a Convent.
