Prayers for the President

by David on November 6, 2008

Lord, I pray that you would bless President Elect Barack Obama.

I pray that your peace, your presence, and your comfort would surround him. Give him wisdom as he endeavors to lead this Country. Give him grace as he is confronted with the difficulties and obstacles he will face. Give him strength and determination to stand against those who would tear down others. Give him compassion for those less fortunate.

Bless his Marriage. Protect the union between Barack and Michelle. Help them to focus their lives upon you. I pray you would give her patience. I pray you would help her to support her husband in the ways that he needs her. I pray you would help him love her the way you intended him to.

Bless their children, Lord. As they grow up, keep their feet on solid ground. Surround them with your love. Protect them from the fierceness of a public life.

Draw the entire family to your heart.

In your holy name, Amen.
